She returns to her lover but is spurned for being the rejected wife of another man. However, Amba had already chosen a groom and demands to be released. The three princesses of the Salva Kingdom, Amba, Ambika and Ambalika are won over by Bhisma,who takes them to Hastinapur to be married to Vichitravirya. As Vichitravirya is incapable of choosing a wife for himself, Bhisma has to do so. Her son, Vichitravirya, an alcoholic and heavily dependent on Bhisma, cannot rule the kingdom, leading Satyavati to decide that Vichitravirya’s future son must rule the kingdom. He also vows serve the throne of Hastinapur and is granted the boon of ‘icchya-mrityu’(the ability to live as long as he does not choose to die).Thus, Bhisma gives up his rightful throne and Satyavati rules the kingdom as the ‘Rajmaata’ (Mother of the King) after her husband’s death.

Krishna could have avoided this situation. his crime was he laughed when Panjali was insulted. as a king ans supporter of duryodhana, Karna did was dharma. as a king what Duryodhana did was dharma. that is what she told him, you knew all these things are going to happen, and why did you not stop it. He could have done these kind of magics long time back and could have avoided this yudha where so many lost their life. If he wanted to help these guys why he didn't stop Krowrava from doing all these. Krishna diluted his principle for the sake of winning that yudha. Krishna knew Arjuna can't kill Karna if Karna was armed. Look, how sharp Sri Karna was, he knew that Krishna was going to ask Arjuna to kill him when he was not armed at the time of lifting his "ratha".
